I want one of those CD from Ronny Kennedy (Irish songs done on the accordion)! (I took accordion
lessons starting at the age of 5). Enjoyed the show .. nice mix of beers. Like you, I found the DFH
Punkin ale too fusel to enjoy. Bought a 4 pk., and 3 of them are aging until at least Thanksgiving,
hoping they’ll cool off. Also, while I was at the Erie UPICK6 store today, I picked up a couple
Stone 090909 Vert. Epics, AND a Troeg’s Java Head! Haven’t tried either yet. Also picked up a
CASE of Great Lakes Nosferatu when I was at the Beer & Pop Warehouse, earlier in the day.
Interesting podcast … maybe the very first one from SIDT with no ‘F bombs’ in it; probably because
Sick Puppy wasn’t in attendance. Cheers!
I’ll have to check our records but I think this may be the 2nd or 3rd non f-bomb show.
My Humpday Happiness Blog has what i thought of the VE09. Looking forward to it in a year.
What did the Nosferatu run you?
Trying again to leave a reply. I think my chances of getting a post thru on the 1st try (using the security codes) is 1 in 10.
Anyway, I’ll check out your blog on VE09 .. interested to see what you thought. I’ve not cracked mine yet. I always get two VEs .. one for now, and one for later.
The case of Nosferatu was $43.95, which is good, considering that if you paid the normal $10 per 4 pk., you’d pay $60 for a case. Picked up a case for a buddy of mine you met at BOTB. Now we’re waiting for the Sam Adams Imperial Pilsner to come in. I’m going to be brewing in a week or so. It will be another 2 batch partigyle: Baltic Porter on 1st runnings, and Robust porter on 2nd runnings.
ttfn .. Cheers

That’s a whole hella lot of Porter! Sickpuppy had mentioned making one once but I forget whatever happened on that. You’ll have to let us know how that goes
Both of my porter batches are now bubbling away in their respective primary. I used a Wyeast starteer with 1338 in the Baltic Porter, and used a pint of the same starter plus a packet of Nottingham in the Robust porter, which I wanted to finish a little drier. Will probably bottle the robust in 2 weeks and the Baltic in 3 weeks. Cheers!
