Thanks for the kind words matt! We do have the new GK 3.5 in our hands now so expect to see new GK content coming soon! Yeah my only complaint about the GK3 was that there wasn’t any clear documentation (I know, looks pretty straight forward) but the 3.5 comes with more tips including a couple we emailed them about.

Something I forgot (you guys probably noticed it already), the second time you flipped it, you didn’t turn the actual filter over. When you’re done with the filtering, you have to remove the filter from the full bottle and point the top back down to the full bottle you want to filter. The top of that filter is tapered on top so even when you’re fucked, you know where the top is. If you look into the top of the filter where that nozzle is, you’ll see two small holes on the side of the nub sticking up. That allows for air flow. Look in the bottom. That has no air holes, because if it did, well, you saw what happened. That was your own fault, guys. It’s cool, I made the same mistake, it’s easily correctable. Just take the filter off and flip it over so it’s facing the right direction, it’s not the bottle or the GK’s fault. lol Love the site, keep it up.

Just a few quick tips, when you flip the GK, give the actual filter of the whole thing a few quick, even shakes to even out the charcoal and get it to settle. That’ll eliminate any space in the charcoal inside so that all the liquor has to go through it instead of evading it. Also, the GK will stand up to about 50 liters. Now, note that that’s 50 liters, that doesn’t mean 50 passes through the filter. So say you’re on your first liter and you filter it six times, that doesn’t matter, you’re still only on your first liter and the GK has a life of 49 more liters left. Happy drinking, guys B-)

“sound” wasted and “being” wasted are 2 different things. I will admit that we were felling quite happy at the time. By the end of the night we were toast. We’re drawing up plans for hopefully EP3 this weekend. I was hoping to get sound bites to use when in Cleveland for Pearl Jam but that didn’t happen.

I may have to rewatch it but we only do pour it thru in one direction. It’s the bottles that switch position

Great job of getting smashed on video guys… BTW I think the instructions say to pour through in one direction only.

I found that if one removes the bottom Kangaroo tube and substitutes a small/medium plastic kitchen funnel, spillage drops to zero and the whole stack is a little more stable.

Looking forward to your next experiment.

Thanks d00d! We’re glad you enjoyed it! We were hoping it would be entertaining to others! I know all about the distilling process The Kangaroo is just a basic charcoal filter that filters out the impurities in the hooch. Makes a bad, burning swill into something drinkable!

P.S. – Tomorrow I’m buying a funnel!

Okay, apparently you guys aren’t engineers… um, you could have put the booze back in the original bottle with a funnel, and repeated. I’m laughing my ass off watching this. Oh, okay, you just said you didn’t have a funnel available. You’re reversing the brewing process if you’ve ever seen the Modern Marvels show on distilling. They distill to a pure liquor (called spirits) then age it for flavor. You’re filtering back to pure liquor. VERY INTERESTING. Will it make you go blind though?
